Today, we’ll take a look at three big fashion mistakes that can make your tummy appear larger than it is and discover savvy ways to hide it.

Mistake #1: Adding Detail to Hide

The first common mistake in our pursuit of a concealed tummy is adding detail to the area we wish to minimize. 

Often, we wrap scarves or belts around our waist, thinking it camouflages our midsection. However, this draws the eye to the very point we aim to conceal. 

To remedy this, focus on minimizing detail around the belly, opting for flat-front pants, skirts with pleats starting below the tummy line, and jeans with minimal front detailing. 

Dark colors and a lack of embellishments further contribute to the desired effect of distraction.

Mistake #2: Boxed In by Oversized Clothes

A prevalent error is resorting to high-neck, boxy, and oversized clothing, believing it hides the tummy. 

Contrary to your intention, this style choice can make you look larger than you are. Instead of concealing your feminine curves, oversized garments cover them up. 

Wear a well-fitted bra to highlight your bustline and let your top or skirt flow over it. Empire waists can draw attention away from your tummy and enhance your look.

Mistake #3: Clinging to Tightness

This creates an elegant and comfortable ensemble that flatters your body without the need for excessive tightness.
